Following the previous round of successful workshops and requests from industry for a follow up, 10 locations have been identified for the delivery of a newly developed TMC workshop
ABOUT THE TMC WORKSHOPS
The TMC role as outlined in the CoPTTM has grown during recent years and as such it was identified as an area that required further training for the individuals appointed to the position.
The role has also been identified in the newly proposed Training and Competency model as a key position in the management of TTM and associated tasks carried out within the road reserve.
NZTA has further developed the previously delivered workshop to now include the renewal, where required, of the CoPTTM STMS warrant held by each attendee. This initiative was included following requests from attendees at the previous workshops which will enable discussion and agreements of consistent approaches across networks in relation to the use of CoPTTM and the updates contained within the STMS refresher element of the workshop.
The 2-day workshop focusses on legislative requirements relating to the role; a more in depth understanding of the application of CoPTTM; an in-depth discussion and confirmation of understanding of the application of Temporary Speed Limits for differing worksites and environments and other topics as detailed below.
Those of you working in NZTA contracts will be aware that the delegation enabling TMCs to approve temporary speed limits (TSL) was withdrawn. We are pleased to announce that this will be reinstated. This workshop is part of the arrangement for the reinstatement of your delegation to approve TSL. A series of exercises and tests will be undertaken to give you an accurate insight into the latest from the Speed Setting Rule.
The workshop has been extended to now include the renewal of your CoPTTM STMS warrant.
WHAT IT COVERS
The workshop covers the following steps:
- The TMC role
